Current tasks
Overview
On this page you can see both your ongoing tasks and any tasks that have been assigned to you by a PM but that are not ready to be started yet.
Note that any tasks that you claimed through automated offers will remain on that page until the PM launches the task; you will not see those tasks under the Waiting to be launched section.
Launched tasks
When a task that a PM has either assigned to you manually or that you claimed is ready to start, the PM will launch it. This will send an email notification and you will then be able to see the task under the Launched tasks section. Launching a task is a signal that everything is now ready to go, and you can start working on the task.
The information you see for each task is largely the same as on Claim tasks, with some additions. The online folder for Task instructions & materials will now contain any source or instructions files you need for your project, and the materials are editable so you can download them, if you need local copies.
The Sandberg PM name is the PM who is managing the task and the person you should contact for any queries or support relating to the task.
For some clients and accounts, we maintain general reference materials that apply to all projects for that client or account. Where these exist, you can access them through the links under General reference material and Account reference material. The former are reference materials that apply to this client as a whole, regardless of a specific account, while the latter are reference materials that apply to the specific account (end client) that this project is for. Usually, Account reference material would take priority over General reference material, but always check your project instructions or with your PM if you are unsure.
When you start working on a task, you can click Mark as started to let the PM know that work is underway. When you have finished the task, prepare your deliverables and click Mark as complete when you are ready. For most tasks, a quality control checklist will open for you to confirm you have carried out the task according to our instructions and guidelines. You will not be able to complete a task without filling in the QC checklist correctly. When the delivery is complete, the PM will get an email notification.
If you need to deliver any files back, please use the same Task instructions & materials link and upload your delivery to the to Sandberg subfolder. If for whatever reason you cannot upload the files, you can send them to the PM via email, but in this case you will need to use an encrypted ZIP file that you protect with the current month's password, visible on the Passport Home page. We recommend 7-Zip, a secure, free zipping tool. You can find our instructions on 7-Zip here.
Finished tasks will stay visible on the list until midnight, at which point they become Invoiceable tasks.
Waiting to be launched
Tasks under this section have been assigned to you directly by one of our PMs, but they are not ready to start yet. Note that you should never start working on a task that has not been launched. Even though you do have access to the task and reference materials even for tasks that are waiting to be launched, those files might not be the final versions that you should be working on.
For example, if you have been assigned to a revision task, the revision will not be ready to start until the translation is complete, so the PM might therefore wait before launching a task. However, especially for big projects that have lots of reference materials and maybe a styleguide to follow, you can start familiarising yourself with those materials while you are waiting for the task to be launched.
