Query management

Depending on the project, you might be asked to submit any queries by opening an issue in Smartling directly. Issues are added and stored on a string level, and they are visible to all language teams working on a project. Responses to issues raised in Smartling appear directly in Smartling. Please bear in mind that in some cases the issues might go directly to the end client, so make sure to word your queries appropriately.

To add an issue for a string, select the string in the editor. On the right-hand pane, you'll see an Issues tab, with a button to Open New Issue.

Select the relevant type of issue from the drop-down menu, type your comment, and click Open this issue when you're done.

To view an issue and see any replies, click the issue title in the Issue pane. To close an issue, select it and click either Comment and close or Close. Note: Do not close any issues that are raised by other teams, and always consult your project instructions to see whether you should submit strings with (relevant) unanswered issues or not.
